NDC / NDCI is proud to hire graduates of the Bucks County Community College Metal Training Program which is a course that prepares students for working in the machining, metal forming, fabrication, EDMing and related trades. On Friday, September 9th NDC / NDCI conducted a tour of our manufacturing facility designed to provide these local community college students direct exposure to the systems and equipment used in precision metal working operations.
The Metalwork Training Program at Bucks gives graduates interested in working with their hands a path to a quick-start career by teaching the essentials skills and theory required for machinist in the field of advanced manufacturing. The training focuses on shop math, measurement tools and systems, reading blueprints, safety, hand tools, manual machines, CNC machining and welding.
The Metalwork Training Program is made possible through a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration. In just 12 weeks students are prepared for entry-level positions in manufacturing and receive a certificate of completion, plus OSHA10 and Forklift Safety Training certification, and sit for the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) exam for Measurement, Materials and Safety Certification.
We are happy to support this training program in our local community. For more information on the Metal Training Program at Bucks County Community College click here.
